Ekmek {Εκμέκ gr} - a bread pudding dessert, also εκμέκ κανταΐφι (ekmek kadaifi) or simply εκμέκ (ekmek). It is usually served with kaymak, a kind of clotted cream.
The group from Thessaloniki succeeded in presenting imaginative adaptation of known songs to conquer the audience of the city and very quickly was established as one of the most dynamic and extrovert proposals of the live scene. Ekmek was loved more than any other emerging band a fact that gave them the chance to release their first album titled “Glukainei den pahainei/ sweetening not fattening», (Lyra). Their dynamic live shows are overflown with well-known Greek and foreign covers , from Kilaidonis, Katsimihas and Chiotis to Depeche Mode, Marc Almond and Rihanna presented through the bands balkan- ethnic-latin view.
Ekmek recently released a single in collaboration with Helen Tsaligopoulou, a duet entitled “Den se sunhoresa oute ligo/I didn’t forgive you a bit”
