"Celebrating the Greek Connection"

The most historical and internationally established dance company of America, Martha Graham Dance Company, celebrates this year the long and dynamic relation of Martha Graham with Greece and visits Thessaloniki, giving two unique performances on July 7 and 8 in Moni Lazariston Festival.

Martha Graham set the base of modern dance and was established as the one of the most innovative artists of the 20th century, conquering dozens of honors through her work. Her name is synonymous with changes that established her as the eternal symbol of modern dance, the most important contemporary choreographers have studied her and were inspired by Martha Graham technique or were stand out through her own school.

The show of Martha Graham Dance Company, which will be performed in Thessaloniki, includes the choreography “Errand” (1947 & 2013), based on the myth of Thyseas, the choreography “Echo” (2014) of the Greek choreographer Antonis Foniadakis, a special request for the Martha Graham Dance Company, as well as the play “Panorama” (1935), the trademark choreography of the dance group.
