Under the title “Estoudiantina” – Smyrna’s fair and famous singers of the popular music: Glykeria, Helen Vitali, Pantelis Thalassinos, Babis Tsertos, Agathonas, Sofia Papazoglou, the orchestra of the Municipality of Nea Ionia of Volos, presented a program of historical and musical references to Ionia’s culture that entertained people at the beginning of the last century.

The concert of the National Orchestra of Thessaloniki, with solo from Maria Farantouri, could be characterized as a musical performance of high esthetic standards. Accompanied by eight distinguished solo musicians, the orchestra, directed by Nikos Athinaios, and the chorus, directed by Mary Konstantinidou, performed the famous works of Mikis Theodorakis.
3rd of July
Three years after her first appearance in Thessaloniki, Helen Karaindrou returned to our city with Kamerata of Friends of Music. Surrounded by ten distinguished solo musicians and Dimitri Myrat as the orchestra’s director, the world known music of Helen Karaindrou flowed through Moni Lazariston at one of the most important summer concerts.
